Go With Moon ! is Laurent Bagnard new book. This time Laurent goes deep into
hot rod history and digs up unpublished treasures to document the whole
Mooneyes story, from 1950 to 2010.
Dean Moon created the famous Moon Equipment Co. back in 1950 (approx.),
but his small-business was formerly called Moon Automotive. Way before that,
while in highschool, the young Dean created the Fuel Block, a tricky aluminium
block that had one input on a side, and two (three or four) outputs on its
finned front. It allowed the feed of multiple carburetors,
thus enabled the popular Flatheads of the era to go faster than
old Henry would have expected. That's where the story starts Dean Moon,
instead of creating an empire, set the path for many hot rodders to get
their share of fame, while his products, his cars and his cleverly
used 'Eyeballs Logo' became legends. This fantastic industrial and
human adventure is strongly rooted in the Post-WWII era, but it
managed to survive the decades and the passing of its originator
in '87 : a young Mooneyes Japanese distributor, Shige Suganuma, bought
the whole Moon legacy, carefully preserved it and expanded
the business and hot rod philosophy' to the world
Go With Moon ! is a 192 pages, LP size, 25×25 cm or 10?x10?,
hardcover (w/ selected varnish), coffee-table book. It's filled with around 440
photos and orgininal documents ; Bagnard searched the whole Moon archive files
for original negatives and documents, and dug up unpublished material in
here : photos, invoices, notes, funny comments and pin ups by Dean himself.
They live along well with contemporary shots and interviews(by Laurent)
by the ones who write current history ' Robert Williams, Cole Foster,
