How many words can still be dropped on a band who’s been dedicating its life to touring the planet for more than 25 year’s and is never shy to show the world the ugly, malformed faces of Rock’n’Roll? A band, so wanted that every single little news bit and gossip finds its way to the surface more rapidly than a tab of acid can be swallowed?
I can tell you! A vast multitude that will never be adequate or enough because a huge and fanatic fan base around the globe demands to be fed and their appetite is still growing!
From the very early beginning, in the years when their lyrics were written down by candlelight in a squat, has existed an amazing cult-like following around these braniacs from Cardiff, England. Unfortunately the band members themselves admit that their memories are not all that good, but we do know that by 1982 the band were up and running. From those days on DEMENTED ARE GO have been taking their sick and twisted beast of Rock`n`Roll through thousands of clubs around Europe, Japan and America.
Another landmark in DAG`s career along the way, was their appearance in the top 10 of the UK Indie Charts. Now, after ten full-length releases, six live albums, a whole coffin of singles and compilation appearances, DEMENTED ARE GO have shed the stigma and stuffy restrictions of the “Psychobilly” pigeonhole and reinvented the genre with a more rocking and uncompromising edge.
On November 4th, 2005, after five bothering years of emptiness, complete with a wicked and fresh line-up, DEMENTED ARE GO are finally giving birth to the brand new soundtrack of your life: “Hellbilly Storm”! The upcoming new strike has the typical DAG balls with a new spicy flavor, as well as some new musical attempts never before attempted, helping these crazy fuckups to definitely find and cement their very own unique style. “Hellbilly Storm” is following in the heritage of all the bad stuff Rock'n'Roll has to offer. It’s the sonic equivalent of a 70’s splatter movie, a 50's grindhouse, Rock'n' Roll lovesong, clear through to acid-soaked 60's garage, ending up somewhere in drag-punk heaven.
