The Rattlesnakes are a 3-piece outfit from Newcastle Australia, that offer an infectious and highly danceable brand of rockabilly and ol’ school rock n roll.


The band’s signature style is influenced by such classics as Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps, Eddie Cochrane, Carl Perkins, Chuck Berry and Elvis Presley to more obscure 50s rockabilly tunes by the likes of Warren Smith, Glen Glen, Johnny Carroll and contemporary rock n roll revivalists The Cramps. The band also offers a popular mix of Australian rock n roll legends including Johnny O’Keefe and 80s Melbourne rockabilly outfit the Crackerjacks.
Audiences love the Rattlesnakes and the band has a earned a strong reputation of high quality performance delivery in the Sydney/Newcastle region and on the festival circuit. The Rattlesnakes play at a variety of venues throughout the country including pubs, clubs, dance nights, weddings, special events, car and hot rod shows and festivals including Wintersun and Kurri Kurri.
The Rattlesnakes released their debut album ‘High Noon in Hell Town’ in March 2010. The album features an eclectic mix of rockabilly, rock n roll, blues and contemporary western ballads.
‘High Noon in Hell Town’ showcases the bands highly danceable sound on ten original tracks including Johnny Suede, Rockabilly Roadhouse, Snake Eyes, Voodoo Rock, High Noon, Wax Head and Striptease Boogie and includes a couple of cool old cover versions including Tear It Up, Goo Goo Muck and Bo Diddley’s influential piece Who Do You Love complete with didgeridoo.

The band comprises Rockin Robbie Urquhart on guitar and lead vocals, Gaz the Captain Hudson on Double Bass and vocals and Trev the Crusher Cameron on drums and backing vocals.
The Rattlesnakes also released a four track EP ‘Venom’ in 2007. Tracks include Five Foot Two, The Way I Walk, Rattlesnakin Mama and Train Kept Rollin.
