Background information on capri pants:In 1911, Henry David Lee gave us the world's first pants featuring a top or bib: the "bib overall." Originally designed as workwear, the hard-wearing pants with their characteristic bib were mostly sown from blue denim fabric and worn by farmers, field workers, or train drivers. For many years, such overalls were the sole domain of male workers, especially in the age of construction and heavy industry. Yet bib overalls also enjoyed increasing popularity among women - for a great example, look no further than 1942's iconic "We can do it" campaign featuring
Rosie the Riveter. Soon, strong women willing to dig in and stand up for their rights adopted the fictitious poster girl as a role model for feminism and economic empowerment. Their work uniform, bib overalls or dungarees, became more and more popular in the 1970s and 1980s, entering mainstream fashion in the 1990s and remaining a well-loved and versatile fashion staple to this day. Fun fact: The latest take on the bib overall is its short cousin - the shortall.
Denim care tips, tricks, and hints:
In order to enjoy the deep blue colouring of our jeans styles for a long time, please do not wash above 40° and don’t use the spin cycle! When ironing, the temperature shouldn't be hotter than level 2. Please always wash on the left and with similar colors, since our denims are only slightly pre-washed to ensure a beautiful deep blue color, they can still lose some dye. Every deep blue denim will "bleed out", just because the dark coloring is only achieved and can be maintained for a long time if the denim is dyed several times with indigo color. However, this iconic dye isn't color-fast by nature, which causes the typical aging process of the so-called blue substances. Therefore, some caution is required when wearing the denim near light-colored fabrics, wallpaper, or bags. Body heat can also encourage color transfer to lighter clothing like underwear, socks, and shoes.
All Rumble59 denims are manufactured from
premium quality fabrics and according to the highest ecological standards. The use of chemical additives or bleaching agents is completely dispensed with.
